Fabulous Room Friday 01.02.15

Good morning! Does it feel like Monday to anyone else today? Mid-week holidays always throw me for a loop! As I mentioned at the beginning of the week, I have had Spain on my mind lately and am so inspired by several Spanish interior designers, so I just had to feature this lovely living room in Madrid by Luis Puerta as the first “Fabulous Room” of the year. The space is elegantly composed and not overly “decorated”. I love the neutral palette, accented with rich tones, a variety of sumptuous textures, and mix of furniture silhouettes. Louis XVI-style armchairs are at home in any room and they look especially chic when paired with clean modern lines, like those of the sofa and coffee table in this instance.

The most stunning feature of the room might just be the classical architecture. High ceilings, windows with shutters, timeless moldings, and crisp white walls complement the striking antique mirrored wall behind the sofa. It makes for such a chic focal point. This room features so many of the elements that I love– a rich, neutral palette, a mix of masculine and feminine, a blend of modern and traditional, abstract art, mixed metals, and an unexpected element or two. What do you love most about this space?

Have a wonderful weekend!
