Fabulous Room Friday 02.13.15

This week, I was flipping through the new issue of Canadian House & Home and came across a fun, colorful project by Angie Hranowsky. I’ve enjoyed following Angie’s career since I began blogging almost eight years ago. She has such a knack for color and designing spaces with a cool, retro-infused vibe. She pairs classic and modern so well.

For this particular project, Angie wanted to honor the location of the South Carolina home and sought to accentuate its beach house architecture. Her client was fond of stark, neutral palettes, but took the important step of trusting her designer implicitly so long as she wasn’t pushed too far beyond her comfort zone. They built the room around the Buddha artwork– made entirely from bottle caps by artist Molly B. which set the color palette of cheery citrus tones with pops of blue and purple. The paneled ceiling adds to the beach house vibe while the configuration of the built-in bookshelves and clean lines of the sofa lend a modern element to the room. In the end, the client was thrilled with the result! Isn’t it a fun, cheerful space?

Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Valentine’s Day!
