Scented Sensory Bins For Fall

Since many of my readers also happen to be parents, I've decided to begin featuring kid-friendly crafts and activities in between my regular posts. So to kick off fall, today is all about making autumn-themed sensory bins. I went to Whole Foods and loaded up on various grains and other dried goods in the bulk section to fill up the bin. I chose orzo, rice, pasta, dried split peas and soy beans. I then scented these items with a dash of cinnamon bark extract and pumpkin pie spice. Toss in some scented pine cones, acorns, gourds, cinnamon sticks, fall leaves and any other seasonal items you might have around the house or in your backyard. And don't forget to add small shovels, rakes, spoons and cups, then let the little ones enjoy!
