Hey girls! It’s Karena and Katrina here, your personal trainers. Are you ready for a fit 2015? Prepare yourself, because we’re unleashing just what you need to get 2015 started on a high note! This is the ideal time to revamp your fitness routine—adding fun, new workouts to the mix—and to focus on feeding your body just what it needs to glow.

Today we’re sharing three amazing routines that can be done anytime, anywhere, along with our top slimming tips to keep you energized and super sexy for the year ahead. Here they are…

Kettle Toning

Why it’s awesome: Kettlebell moves engage multiple muscle groups at the same time, giving you one intense and effective sweat session. This routine combines a blend of both toning moves and yoga postures for the ideal 35-minute workout. Get ready to work your entire core, sculpt your inner and outer thighs and lift that booty!

Tip: New to using kettlebells? Start with 10-15 lb and work your way up from there. If you don’t have a kettlebell, use a 10-15 lb dumbbell instead. See beginner routines here.

Yoga

Why it’s awesome: A regular yoga practice is a wonderful way to feel centered and connected to your body while also getting quite a workout. If you can’t make it to a studio or are short on time, the routine below is perfect! De-stress and revive your spirit for the New Year with these calming postures that improve flexibility while also strengthening your arms, legs and core.

High Intensity Interval Training

Why it’s awesome: HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, and this type of workout is one of the best ways to tone up, blast calories and burn fat in the shortest amount of time. This routine boosts your metabolism, gets your heart rate up and sculpts from head-to-toe.

Now, here are our best tips for staying fit in 2015:

Slim Tips for the New Year

  • Visualize what you want.
Visualization is essential in reaching your goals. It’s a key tool used by professional athletes, and we truly believe that this is the first step to creating a healthy New Year. Here’s how to do it: Picture yourself exactlywhere you want to be in a year: happy, healthy, fit and confident. Create a mental picture of what your best year will look like and visualize it every morning, throughout the day and every night. Plan it, visualize it and make it happen!
  • Drink up.
Your body needs water, and staying hydrated helps you take care of your body in a major way. Dehydration causes fatigue, slows down your metabolism(yikes) and increases unhealthy cravings. The worst part? When you’re dehydrated, your body can’t burn fat efficiently, which means all of your hard work doesn’t pay off. Make those workouts and healthy meals count by drinking plenty of water. How much? At least 1/2 your body weight in ounces daily. If you weigh 150 lb, drink at least 75 ounces of water throughout the day. For added benefits and a zest of flavor, add a squeeze of lemon!
  • Focus on Lean, Clean N’ Green.
Lean, Clean N’ Green is our motto! It means you are fueling your body with whole, unprocessed foods and including plenty of nutrient-packed greens like kale, spinach, Brussels sprouts and asparagus. Say no to artificial sweeteners, packaged foods and anything containing ingredients you cannot pronounce. This will have you glowing all day long! This is one of the main components of our Tone It Up Nutrition Plan.
  • Move more!
Your body craves movement! Those gorgeous legs are made for walking and that booty loves to squat. In addition to daily workouts, give yourself some extra calorie burn wherever you can by parking in the furthest spot, riding your bike when possible and making weekend plans with friends that revolve around fun activities… Group hike anyone!? During the workweek, get your co-workers on board by initiating a couple 5-minute lunges, planks or squat breaks at the office.

So, now that you’ve watched our workouts and read our tips…
