5 Reasons to Love Project Life

Thank you to Stampin’ Up! for providing this Let’s Get Away Project Life Collection, giving me plenty of reasons to love Project Life!

I am that mom… who dreams of creating beautiful scrapbooks filled with our family memories, ones that my children will cherish forever. They might even fight over these almost artwork like pages preserving our history. BUT, the Reality is that 2012 pictures are still on my memory card.

I have heard about Project Life for sometime now, but for the longest time I just didn’t get it. I felt like it was way too close to how my mom preserved memories, and wouldn’t give me enough creative freedom. Until, I saw this…

I was blown away by how creative you could be with your Project Life layouts! Apparently, I was just too closed minded, and didn’t see all of the possibilities. I dug deeper into the Project Life world, and I have to say I’m hooked! Here are a few of the reasons I have decided to make the switch to Project Life…

I actually scrapbook now! So, I’m completely sorry I put down your way of saving our pictures, Mom. At least you printed pictures and got them in albums, which is more than I can say for myself. With Project Life, I can do just that, I can finally get the pictures in the album. Project Life isn’t just sliding pictures into an album, but it can be just as easy.

I can be as creative or not creative as I want to be or time allows. I decide how complex or detailed I want my album to be. Which isn’t something that would really work for traditional scrapbooking. With traditional scrapbooks it’s not going to look right if I just added some pictures and walked away, it’s way more involved. I like that I don’t have to add a ton of embellishment for it to look nice. If I happen to be feeling more creative, I can easily add those embellishments and create something comparable to a traditional layout.

I can fit way more pictures into a Project Life albums. We have all seen those beautiful layouts with ONE picture! How is that practical when I took 2,381 of our vacation! Again, you have the option to do both with Project Life. I have seen layouts that have very few pictures, and I have seen others that are filled with pictures, either way looks great. I like having the ability to get the most out of my time and scrapbook.

I can get coordinating kits. I definitely prefer things to match, but that isn’t always easy to do. I love that I can get kits like this Let’s Get Away Project Life Card Collection. I can add these adorable cards as decoration or for journaling throughout the book. If I’m feeling a little more creative I can take it to the next level with this Let’s Get Away Project Life Accessory pack or these coordinating stamps!

There are kits based on certain themes, or kits just for everyday life. Even if I’m doing a kit about random moments I love that I can keep the theme of the book the same with a kit. It makes everything so much easier, and is much more time efficient for a busy mom.

I can make my own cards. I’m not going to get rid of my beautiful paper just because I never used it for traditional scrapbooking, I’m cutting it up! The smaller paper packs that I have like this Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper will be perfect for mini albums.

If I had to give ONE reason why I love Project life it is… OPTIONS. Every reason and point I have is based in the reality that I need the flexibility of options. If perfectionist me has to worry about all the steps that go with traditional scrapbooking, they will never get done. With Project Life I have the hope that I can actually do this, I don’t have to start from scratch on a traditional layout. I can add my pictures and embellish as I see fit. I don’t think I’m the only mom who is intimidated by the traditional scrapbooking process, so I love that Project Life gives us a way to accomplish the same thing with less fuss.
