Paper Pumpkin’s Sweet as Pie Box

Thank you to The Paper Pumpkin for providing this Sweet as Pie Box, complete with everything I needed to create a wonderful project and have a little crafty fun.

As I mentioned in my last post, life has been crazy. I have to say in midst of everything going on, I put my love of crafts and creating to the side. There were more important things going on, right? Well, maybe, but I have to say I felt the effects of pushing my passions to the side. The reason I created this blog was to give me a break from the everyday craziness of being a stay- at- home mom, hence the name, Life After Laundry. By neglecting this part of my life it was easy to get weighed down by life.

I don’t think I’m the only mom who suffers with this problem. I know it sounds cliche, but we need to make time for ourselves, so we can well,… function! One thing that came to this mom’s aid was the Paper Pumpkin Subscription Box. Last weekend while my son was away, I spent a little crafty time to myself. I can’t even describe how awesome it felt, listening to music, in my PJ’s, while working on a craft project. It was exactly what I needed to relax and feel refreshed. As you can see a little has changed since then, I’m back here writing! Which I feel like is a result of taking a little time for myself.

Here is a little more about my personal craft retreat… This was my first Paper Pumpkin box, it came with a little welcome note, a acrylic block for stamping, all the supplies, instructions for the project. plus some inspiration for other projects.

Ok, yeah, I was a little giddy when I saw all my new craft supplies! Plus, I knew I would be able to reuse the stamping supplies, which meant more for my stash! I easily put together the pie box that was in the instructions, and then I saw bunting as an alternative project. Since, I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year, I’m in need of some decorations.

I cut the triangles out and used leftover pieces of the boxes to make little Happy Thanksgiving tags. I added my own special touch by inking the sides of my pieces. All of the other embellishments came with the box, like the pom poms, which I have actually never made before. It was simple though, even a little pom pom maker was included in the supplies.

I love, love, love, love how adorable my projects turned out and the time spent crafting was just what I needed! Sometimes we need some alone time like this, but I also think it would be fun to use this Paper Pumpkin Subscription as a monthly girls night! Everyone bring a snack and their box. It would be as simple as that, $20 and you have all your crafting supplies for a night of crafty fun!
