Friday Favorites #81: Week of 3/20

Happy Friday! I, for one, am super excited about the upcoming weekend.

There are a couple of nighttime plans scheduled onto our calendars, but from what I can tell, the days are free and open. That’s always something to look forward to.

We’ve still got a full day to get through, but Friday night is just around the corner. Let’s celebrate by rolling right into this week’s highlights in the form of Friday Favorites!

Every week, I share what I have been loving or what made me smile, and I invite you to share your favorites in the comments and link up sections below. Party on!

Friday Favorites #81: Week of 3/20

• Maroon 5 concert

I can’t help but to start this edition of #FFavorites with my favorite outing of all this week… going to see Maroon 5!

I have been obsessed with Maroon 5 and their music since my college years. Their Songs About Jane album takes me right back to high school and college days when I constantly played it on repeat! Isn’t their music (and Adam Levine’s voice) the best? I sure think so.

On an impulse decision, Scott purchased tickets for us and two friends to sit in the fourth row! Since I was coming from work and wasn’t planning on going until the last minute, I hurried home as fast as I could to change and arrived at the arena just in time to meet our group and catch the second opener, Magic!

They were great, and were a wonderful surprise to walk into. As expected, they closed their set with Rude and had the entire crowd on their feet! It was the closest any of us had ever sat at a major concert, and we were absolutely pumped for the main event.

Around 9:30 p.m., Maroon 5 came on and got right into a strong set of familiar songs, both old and new.

Adam was so close to us! I don’t always get embarrassingly crazy about bands and lead singers, but when I do, it’s over Maroon 5 and Adam Levine. You guys. His extremely sexy falsetto voice is even dreamier in person!

All of us stood on our feet throughout the entire concert and had a blast dancing around and singing our hearts out.

Besides jamming out to the music, I have two favorite concert memories. One was when he unashamedly grabbed his neon pink (and another neon green one later on) guitar and rocked out with the band…

The other was when Adam and the lead guitarist, James Valentine, moved to the center of the arena and asked everyone to put their phones away. He literally instructed every single fan to put their phones down and enjoy an acoustic version of She Will Be Loved. Not wanting to be “that person”, everyone listened to the birthday boy (it was Adam’s birthday!), and it was such a cool and intimate few minutes!

If you ever get the chance to see Maroon 5 live, take it. I have paid to see them three times in concert now, and it just keeps getting better every time. Swoon!

• Quiznos

I am so, so thankful for a Quiznos within walking distance of my gym. There’s been many times where I have needed lunch or dinner in a short couple of minutes, and am always swiftly in and out of the sandwich shop with some kind of toasted turkey sandwich.

I vary the toppings, but for the most part, I usually stick to the Turkey Lite and can’t get enough of it lately. Mmm… toasty!

• Yes To Blueberries facial exfoliator

I got around to using my Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh facial exfoliator wash this week and am in love. It’s great to use at the end of a long day knowing that my face probably went through multiple hand touching and sweat sessions.

I received this exfoliator as part of a shipment from Yes To Carrots (<- love their stuff!) a while back, and finally gave it a go a couple of days ago. Even after just one use, my face felt instantly softer and extremely clean. It’s meant to be used 3-4 times a week, and I would definitely recommend it!

• belVita soft baked breakfast biscuits

Last weekend, I picked up a new kind of muffin for breakfast. Have you ever seen these belVita soft baked breakfast biscuits?

Some of you might have picked up on the fact that I am a fan of the belVita breakfast bites after reviewing them a couple months ago. You know I’m a big fan if I continue to buy the product on my own later on. I have been doing exactly that and then some by trying the bigger, soft baked version of them this week.

The soft baked biscuits are delicious and taste like a perfect blend between a chocolate chip cookie and muffin. #morningwin for sure!

• Sweets ice cream, baked goods & café

I met a friend for coffee at the cutest little café yesterday. Located in Downtown Auburn Hills, it was my first time walking the main street, and I loved the scenery right away.

I walked into a bright and cheery coffee shop set up, and couldn’t help but take photos to share with you guys.

(Hi, Sarah!)

Per her suggestion, I ordered a Beez Kneez coffee that consisted of espresso, soy milk, honey, and cinnamon. I saw their window of cupcakes upon my checkout and also couldn’t resist giving their Vegan green velvet cupcake a try.

It was green and shimmery in honor of St. Patrick’s Day! I loved it. The two of us stayed in that little corner for a couple of hours and had a great time. I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu!

• March Madness

March Madness officially started yesterday! We had some of the basketball games playing throughout the gym yesterday, and it brought me right back to my days of dancing on court during the NCAA tournaments USF traveled to in 2008 – Go Bulls!

Do you have any predictions for the Final Four?

Think about it, keep those teams in mind, and keep a lookout for a fun March Madness themed giveaway next week!

• white & black bean hummus

I shared a little preview of this during this week’s WIAW, and today I am dedicating an entire bullet point to it. White bean and black bean hummus, y’all!

Yes, it is as amazing as it sounds, and yes, you should try your best to find some at a store near you. I picked these bad boys up at our local Meijer, and the brand is Eat Well Embrace Life. After browsing their website, it looks like they have a ton of unique flavors. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for more to pop up in our stores!
