DIY Paper Lantern Hot Air Balloon

It’s adorable features make this DIY paper lantern project great for birthdays and baby or bridal showers. It’s simple to create and is perfect for centerpieces or table decor. It is also very easy to customize, you can try different colors depending on your party theme, or try adding glitter to give it some personality. You’ll only need 5 materials to get started and maybe about 5-10 minutes per hot air balloon. Take a look below:

Paper Lanterns (We used our 8 in. here)| Straws | Burlap Ribbon | Lace Ribbon | Paper Mache Box

Cut the ribbon to fit around the paper mache box and glue or tape it in place.

Poke 4 even holes on the lid of the paper mache box. Note: Be careful to not make the holes too big, the straws should fit snugly.

Position the straws and then just add the paper lantern on top! Note: For extra security- glue or tape the lantern to the straws.
