Worth the Hype? Tom Ford Lipstick in Casablanca

It was only a matter of time. I knew that someday the lure of acquiring a Tom Ford lipstick would get the best of me. After years of resisting the temptation, I finally accepted my lipstick fate and purchased one of these outrageously expensive lipsticks. When the deed was done, I felt exhilarated, excited and a teeny bit sick to my stomach.

The packaging is stunning, luxe and beautiful. I chose a pretty, everyday kind of lipstick with a little bit of extra somethin’ somethin’, called Casablanca. It’s a wearable, warm pink with a hint of rosey mauve.

Though I loved it at first swatch, when I got home I wasn’t so sure anymore. Maybe it was a little bit of buyer’s remorse but I started to doubt my purchase. Maybe the lipstick was not that special.

As time went on, I continued to give it a shot, pulling it out more often than not. And my love for it started to grow. The more I wore it the more I loved it. Every time I put it on, I felt put together and sophisticated — this colour is just so darn wearable.

The formula is divine; it is comfortable and not drying. It doesn’t slip around, and is quite opaque when you swipe it on.

So was it worth the money? It’s all relative really. If you only buy one or two lipsticks a year and want to splurge, then by all means this is one to check out. Or if you’re a lipstick fanatic looking for something unique to add to your collection, I’d say these are a good option. All in all, I guess I’m saying these lipsticks are worth a look at least.

As for me, I’m already dreaming of another. Which one shall it be?
