C25K – Week 5 Day 1

I can’t believe we’re on Week 5 already! Week 5 Day 1 was relatively easy compared to Week 4 – it consisted of (2) 5 minute runs with a 3 minute walk break in between.

We headed out when I got home from work. It was still 87 degrees and felt like 97. Perfect.

The weather channel was calling for an evening thunderstorm but it never happened. The air felt hot and heavy with very little breeze. My new visor has done a pretty good job of keeping the sweat out of my eyes.

I don’t even look sweaty in that picture but I promise I am. Dane’s shirt is soaked, too.

My breathing wasn’t great and my calves felt extra tight from my workout on Monday. We’ve been using bug spray because the bugs are crazy on this path. (You can see all of the trees in the background) However, once we’re done running and I’m sweating the spray starts to burn. Particularly my arms. Maybe I need to use a more mild spray?

I didn’t burn as many calories as last week but still not bad.

As always, this includes an extra 1 mile walk to and from the path we run on.

After our showers, we had an amazing dinner. Dane cooked some round steaks in the crockpot for 6 hours and made some homemade gravy using arrowroot as a thickener. We served them with cauliflower, broccoli and diced sweet potatoes cooked in coconut oil. So good.

My whole body is sore but I’m looking forward to another workout with my trainer tonight!!
