Lotta Agaton

A tribute to White

When I worked for Designers Guild 20 years ago I had my apartment all painted in diffrent strong colours such as lime green, cobalt blue and terracotta after that my next home was all calm in Farrow & Balls beige and sand colours. Then I went white with bright contrast colours and wallpapers and now as you all know I have had a couple of years with white, black, grey and neutrals.

Last year I began to get on a darker journey by painting Lotta Agaton Shop first grey-green then dark grey and dark blue. This is what happens when you work with interiors, you have to experiment and move on. Find your own path and trust your gut feeling and never be afraid to try something new. After colour comes neutrals and after dark comes light. That is just the way it goes and to me it is really not about trends it is just a natural process and all about my constant crave for change.

The blog Seventeen Doors posted her brilliant Sunday Column yesterday about white getting dark and even if I am walking that way too in my new apartment I must admit it is with mixed emotions since there is nothing as serene, pure and uplifting than a white room being hit by the spring light and also I know after the dark I will probably need white again..
