Sharing Smiles - Le Bistro, Wentworth

Jack is a saint. He pretends he enjoys my constant caterwauling *ahem* singing, allows me to have total control of the remote on a Saturday night and eats all of my crazy, vegetable filled cooking adventures without complaining. Because of that, I decided that he deserved a bit of a treat and surprised him by booking a table at one of our favourite restaurants for Sunday lunch.

We visited Le Bistro, a small restaurant located right in the middle of our favourite country village. We've visited in the past to celebrate special occasions on an evening, so it was nice to get to see it during the day. The food at Le Bistro is delicious and Jack always raves about it, so naturally he was pleased when he found out where I was taking him!

Jack ordered the fishcake as his starter and the sirloin steak as his main. I ordered the creamy garlic mushrooms as my starter and the stuffed chicken as my main. Somehow, Jack managed to find the space to fit in dessert (ice cream!) afterwards. I honestly don't know how he managed it because portion sizes are always quite hearty at Le Bistro and we were both struggling half way through our mains! That guy can eat.

Afterwards, we decided to go for a walk around the village to burn off all of the copious amounts of food. It was lovely way to spend a lazy Sunday with Jack as usually we sit around the house after visiting family, waiting for Downton to start (tears because it's the series final as I type this!) Speaking of grand buildings like Downton, the building we are standing in front of in the pics below are the stable blocks besides the big house in Wentworth! Stable blocks! They stretch the length of the street that I live on!

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right? Jack's certainly no exception when it comes to steak ;) I'm glad I was provided with the opportunity to make him smile today!
