Holiday Outfit Idea

Okay, so I have a confession to make. I am a beauty/style blogger, aren’t I? I often don’t feel like it, but that’s the category I seem to fall into. Even with that title, I… um… I actually don’t like shopping online!

There, I said it! Don’t judge me *hangs head in shame.*

My husband is an avid online shopper and when I was buying a holiday outfit from JCPenney, he promptly took advantage and filled the cart with over $400 worth of clothes for him and the boys. He, clearly, has no problem. (We got quite a bit for that amount, so it was okay with me too!)

Me, on the other hand, I always get so overwhelmed with the choices! And even when I use the filters I start to think, “but wait – if I choose that filter, then what if what I’m looking for is there! Then I won’t see it!” Let’s not even talk about thoughts on the size, what would it go with, and whether it will be as cute in person. It just sends my mouse right up to that corner X and off the page. That or I spend 4 hours filling my cart with 3 items. Yep, the struggle is real, people.

But I wanted a cute outfit for JCPenney this holiday season. I’ve enjoyed working with them so much during the last couple months that I wanted to have a cute little party outfit for the end of the year. I hopped online with all cuteness with so much hope and then the normal overwhelming-ness (is that a word?) got to me again.

Then I spotted “More ways to shop.”

Then, right under that, I saw Outfits you’ll love.

Say what? I can shop by outfits? I can have someone basically put something together for me and I can pick and choose the pieces I like from it? Yes. Please.

So many holiday outfit ideas! These are a couple outfits put together with People StyleWatch. I wanted to go for something that was a little edgier than I normally choose for my holiday outfit but still practical so I could wear it other places and throughout the year even. On top of having “outfits you’ll love” they also have a holiday outfit idea lookbook where you can find different outfit ideas for the whole family.

If you’re more of a see-it-in-action kind of person, they also have a YouTube playlist where they collaborate with People StyleWatch to showcase the season’s looks and how to wear them! So cool, right?

So can you guess which outfit I chose?

The tuxedo glam! We don’t do a lot of holiday parties, and we don’t often get very fancy. Instead, my husband and I try to have some nights out with friends and our family nights. I wanted something that could work dressed up or just the way it was, or even mixed and matched. I thought this was a perfect blend! In fact, I wore it to my husband’s game the other night!

You can probably see, the pants have a leather side panel that I love. It’s nice that they have that feature without being all leather. It makes them very comfortable.

My kids told me that the jacket looked like the guy from the Gangnam Style song’s jacket. I’m sure they meant it as a compliment… I think. Heck, this is coming from two little boogers that forget to put on underwear and can’t match a shirt to jeans. I should take it with a grain of salt.

Overall I love this outfit. The shirt is so pretty and sparkly and I have this illusion that it makes me look thinner. I am not sure that’s true, but I’m gonna run with it. It also will pair well with pretty much anything else, so it’s a win for me.

I can’t wait to mix and match all the pieces with what I’ve got in my wardrobe already! Maybe feeling a 7×7 remix coming on? They are very versatile pieces.

So tell me – what do you wear for the holidays? Do you have an occasion where you get to get dressed up or do you keep it mostly casual?

Also, as always, JCPenney has an awesome campaign going on right now. If you’re looking for more ways to give this holiday season, check out their JustGotJingled website for ideas.
