I don't know about you but I love giving and getting handmade gifts. I found these cute red berry baskets at Michaels and decided they would be a great for some handmade gift giving. The first one I am calling a card making kit in a jar....in a basket! I filled the mason jar full of all kinds of Maya Road goodies like metal snowflake clips, bows, flair, etc. from the Sparkle&Shine kit Then I decorated the outside with some crystal pieces, Maya Road twine, a metal christmas tree clip, wooden button, and some moss. I also included some moss on the berry basket as well as the cute linen flower. Using the free downloadable calendar from Maya Road found HERE...I printed them, attached them to a tag with a brad, and now the kit has a built in calendar that can be torn off at the end of each month. Now the this gift receiver has everything they need to make some cute cards!
The last basket I found some kraft doilies and glued them to my basket. Next, I cut a piece of floral foam and stuck in the bottom of the basket. Then I covered it with some cut up kraft paper to fill the space.
Using more Maya Road goodies I started decorating the basket. I used Maya Road trim, tag, resin deer, clear acrylic houses, metal snowflake clip, and a star pin to create my little display. I used colorful straws in different heights and added my pieces to them. Then I simply stuck them into the floral foam and displayed them how I wished.
I hope this has inspired you to make your own handmade gifts for friends and family. You still have time!!!! These are quick and easy ways to make something from the heart! Merry Christmas and happy creating in 2015!
