Hawaiian Honeymoon

Funny story. Back in October Stephen and I thought it would be fun to take Charlie to the halloween pooch parade that was happening nearby. Okay, I thought it would be fun. So we go down and laugh at all of the poor dogs decked out in their halloween attire and visit all of the vendor booths. At one of the booths there was a contest to guess how many wine corks were in a jar. The winner would get a free trip. Stephen and I put in our guess, and then a week later we got a call saying we won. Halloween pooch parade doesn’t sound so horrible now does it Stephen?

We won two nights with flights to Honolulu, Hawaii. Now, Stephen and I didn’t get to have a honeymoon after we got married because we were in the thick of visa stuff and a transatlantic move. Not that we were complaining. We knew that we wouldn’t be able to afford a honeymoon anytime soon and we were okay with that. Actually, we didn’t anticipate being able to take one for maybe another year or two so this was a very unexpected surprise.

After winning free flights, which is half of the expense battle, we decided to take this awesome opportunity and make a honeymoon out of it by extending our trip, hopping over to Maui, and paying to stay in a resort on Maui for 8 days (thanks to bookit.com and their awesome rates. I am not being paid to say that, unfortunately). So on Monday the 12th we are heading to Hawaii for our honeymoon and we are SO excited!

Our plan is to do absolutely nothing but eat, drink, and lay by the pool and beach. Dream.
