December in Vienna

I was invited along with 50 other bloggers across Europe to join Olympus in Vienna for a Christmas shindig. Obviously because this was an Olympus trip I left my Canon at home and brought along my PEN e-PL7 to capture the moments. Usually I am loaded down with heavy camera equipment, so it felt quite liberating with the small and light Mirrorless Olympus and 17mm f/1.8 lens.

We stayed at the Melia Vienna which is part of the DC Tower and Austria’s tallest building! The hotel is beautiful, very modern and I would highly recommend it if you are visiting Austria. We only hit the streets of Vienna and the Christmas Markets when it started to get dark so I was interested to see how the e-PL7 would handle low light conditions without using flash.

We had an hour to settle in our rooms so I decided to play around with the OI share – an app where you can control your camera via your phone. You are able to take and download photos…handy for bloggers and instagrammers!

Vienna is full of pet dogs! How beautiful is this husky.

I think the PEN e-pl7 did pretty damn well, don’t you? If you fancy one yourself or as a Christmas present you can purchase one here.

After one evening in Vienna we woke up bright and early the next day for our flight back home again. It’s a shame the trip was so brief as first impressions of Vienna were great! Austrian people are incredibly friendly and the city was beautiful, cultural and clean. If you want to visit a city over Christmas, Vienna is the place to go!

Thanks to Olympus for inviting me along. If you fancy having a look at what all the other bloggers got up to, check out the #olympusPENgeneration tag on instagram.

Keep in touch!
