American Craft Retailers Expo

Hi everyone!

Last week, we spent a few days in Philadelphia to participate in the ACRE show. ACRE stands for American Craft Retailers Expo, and it is a show dedicated to handmade American crafts. Sadly, the show is not open to the public, only gallery and shop owners can attend. I am always impressed by the beautiful things that are handmade here in the USA. Check out the items from my show neighbors:

Eduardo makes amazing watches. The name of his company is Watchcraft.

On the other side was Phaedra, who sells the silver jewelry that her mom, Lily, makes. Her company name is Lily Barrack.

Here are more pictures from the show.

I enjoy participating in the Philadelphia show. One of the reasons is that just across the convention center, there is an amazing food market that is like a gastronomical heaven. It’s called Reading Terminal Market and it has been there since 1893. Part of the market is run by Amish people from Pennsylvania and the rest is for other vendors.

You can find amazing food in this market: the best dumplings, Philly Cheesesteaks, and more. This market has the best turkey sandwich I have ever had. There are so many good places to eat there for lunch, with a great variety of food, such as Chinese and Indian food. It is set up like mini restaurants within the market, where they prepare the food in front of you and you can eat at a counter.

On Valentine’s Day, which is also my husband Michael’s birthday, we went with a few friends from the ACRE show to our favorite Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. It’s called Tai Lake. If you are ever in Philly, I highly recommend this restaurant.

While we were in Philadelphia, in the same convention center where the ACRE show was, there was also a tattoo show. It was a strange and incredible show. Instead of trying to describe it, let me just share some photos.

Last week, the blogger from the StopDropandVogue blog visited our studio and took lots of photos. Her name is Taylor Aube. You can check out her blog here.
