… ORGANISING MY WARDROBE

Getting super organised with these acrylic drawers from Muji

I admit it. My wardrobe is overwhelming me. I have already taken two massive bags down to the charity shop and have packed a lot of other pieces up in the loft. What I need to read is this, from Vogue.com

And once that’s sorted, check out this wardrobe maintenance advice from my friends Laura and Petro over at Wardrobe Icons.

… SHOPPING AT FINERY LONDON

I heard about Finery a few months ago during a girly lunch with an old friend. She knows Caron Downie, the designer behind the hottest, not-even-totally launched online brand – which was described to me as a slightly more girly, less minimal COS.

AMAZING.

Caron also is the fashion visionary who spent ten years at Topshop and more recently as fashion director of ASOS, so really, it was always going to be cool.

Finery has been created to bridge the gap for women who can’t find what they want on the high street, want quality, but perhaps can’t afford – or don’t want to go down – that designer route. Their head of design is Emma Farrow, who gave up her role as head of design at Topshop and their head of buying is former ASOS womenswear buyer Rachel Morgan. Quite a trio.

But low-key launching meant it has only been operating as invite-only for a while – so last week I was sent a message to say I could finally shop. And it is seriously impressive.

The shoes are to die for (see below), with prices comparable to say, Reiss. I have purchased (well, there was 25% discount on the opening offer). My opinion, get yourself on the mailing list, like, now – February sees the launch of their main Spring collection.

Wearing my Finery sandals. I’ll be wearing them to toughen up girly dresses or with cropped tailored trousers. Roll on Summer.

… TRYING TO IMPROVE MY PHOTOGRAPHY

My Olympus PEN E-PL7 with strap from Sarah Frances Kuhn

And while I’m slowly becoming handier at using it, I still need a lot of help. This handy cheat sheet from Shotrockers is a brilliant quick check guide.

… MAKING THIS FOR DINNER

Image: Half Baked Harvest

It’s got butternut squash, something called acorn squash (you can get it in Waitrose apparently), brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, pomegranates, pecans, coconut rice and avocado, all flavoured with curry. It’s also got a little sprinkle of goat cheese and blue cheese, but I will probably ignore the blue cheese bit as I’m not a big fan. Yummy. Gorgeous photography too. Link and recipe on Half Baked Harvest.

… SERIOUS LIP SAVING

THIS. This is saving my poor, cold-weather attacked, central-heating hating lips from falling off.

It’s Mary Kay Satin Lips lip mask. Whack it on for 1-2 minutes (not in public, it’s matte and white), wipe it off. Bingo.

Only two more sleeps and it’s the weekend.
