I wore this outfit for a quick brunch and trip to a few shops on our quiet, relaxing, MLK day yesterday (side note- I managed to get this for under $55 in store...is it just me or are the January sales especially good this year?!). Anyway, I've spoken earlier this month about the necessity but difficulty in layering I've experienced since living a couple of winters here on the East Coast. Lately I've found this denim vest to be a great piece that adds a lot of warmth without much bulk. Hooray!

Also, I'd like to talk about the perfection that is this sweater. It was a birthday gift last month and it's fast becoming one of my favorite pieces. Always been a sucker for anything with a collar, and that pink edging and pockets are the icing on the cake! What are your favorite 'go to' pieces right now? And, more importantly, how do you layer in winter?!

Ps- these pics clearly don't show how windy it was, hence the constant hat holding! Super paranoid my topper was going to end up in the river!
