Transition ... from GFC to Bloglovin'

As many of you may know, Google Friend Connect (GFC) has already been discontinued on non-Blogger websites as of March this year, and Google Reader will be discontinued on Blogger from July 1. There has been no talk of discontinuing GFC as a product yet, and for the moment, this avenue remains safe. Not to bore you all, I'll talk more about this issue under the cut.
JUST to be on the safe side, please keep up with my blogposts on Bloglovin'. I've been using this service ever since I started up Modestelle, and I found it the best way to keep up with all my favourite blogs.
If you're following me on GFC but not on Bloglovin, please click here to follow my bloglovin'

There has been some confusion when Google announced the discontinuation of Google Reader - and whether GFC would be impacted. Google Reader and GFC are two different products. However, when you click to "join this site" or follow a blog via GFC it automatically adds that blog to your Blogger Reading List and Google Reader. Google Reader is pretty much a place where you can follow blogs via RSS feed. The Blogger blog list is similar but different. The Blogger Reading List is Bloggers way of following blogs and there's been no announcement as of yet that says they plan to discontinue this. So, what will change? The only thing that will change is that you will no longer be able to follow blogs via Google Reader. You will not lose your GFC widget or your Blogger Reading List. (information sourced Life And Everything Else In Between)

But despite this, I assume that Google will plan to move their entire blogging premise to Google and their new Circles, Communities and Hangouts to keep in touch within the next year or so.

Thus, I encourage ALL of you to transition to Bloglovin' as your reader site. It's so easy to use! You too, can claim your blog on bloglovin' and follow all your favourite blogs there, whether it'd be Blogger based or Wordpress based. You can also get updated via email using Bloglovin', which I find super convenient and reduces my time of constantly scrolling to find updates from my favourite blogs. Also, Bloglovin' is now available as an App (iOS for iPhone/iPad, and Android), making it the perfect reader for bloggers on the go.
