thredUP Ultimate Eco Fashion Haul

I admit it, I’m a hauler. That might sound strange coming from someone whose entire online identity depends on the idea of reducing consumption—especially given my focus on thrifting and swapping for clothes, most recently with the Shop Drop Challenge. But hauling—a 21st century phenom in which women and girls use social media and YouTube to display and rate massive amounts of beauty and fashion purchases—is exactly what I’ve been doing. Because today through Monday January 26th, the thredUP 99 Cent Event is putting gently loved style on sale at massive savings: Just 99 cents per piece! Seriously, this five-day sale will go down in history—so don’t miss out! Through the thredUP 99 Cent Event, I scored a $2,100 eco fashion haul for…$9. You read that right: Nine. Dollars. And I’ve got video to prove it.

If I’d bought these clothes at a regular retail store, it would have cost me $2,100. With the thredUP 99 Cent Event I got NINE pieces for less than lunch—and I’ve got an eco fashion haul video to prove it.

How does it work? As I shared after I discovered it last year, thredUP is a giant online consignment store, which you can use to refresh your wardrobe with gently loved fashions—at seriously reduced prices. 7 for All Mankind jeans that would normally retail for $190 are just $38.99. A Zac Posen cocktail dress is $176—with original purchase tags showing a price of $590. A worn-once $110 J. Crew skirt costs $22.

You can also sell your clothes on thredUP—they’ll cover postage and will send you a pre-paid mailer for free. The company now has more than a million customers who buy and sell gently loved women’s, juniors and kids clothing and accessories. And given the fact that the average American dumps six pounds of textile waste into the landfill every month, this kind of recycling can add up to a whole lot of savings.

With more than 250,000 items to choose from, the only problem is having enough time to look through it all. Which is where the ability to sort—by style, color, price, condition, size or designer—comes in. Only want new with tags? There’s a button for that. You can also browse editor’s picks, and create your own shops that new items will automatically sort into.

My favorite section? LAST CHANCE, where you can find awesome deals on a daily basis—and where now through Monday, the thredUP 99 Cent Event puts them on sale for under a dollar! I scored a Corey Lynn Calter dress, Banana Republic cashmere sweater, Shelli Segal Laundry silk sweater, Leyen Decker silk dress—with tags still on, marked $275—and gorgeous Sergio Rossi stilettos. Oh, and Daughters of the Liberation jeans—already hemmed to the perfect length, natch. If I’d bought them at a regular retail store, these purchases would have added up to $2,100. I got the whole shebang for $9—less than lunch.

Check out my haul video then head on over to the thredUP 99 Cent Event. Once you receive your eco fashion haul box, will you leave me a comment and let me know what you scored? I showed you mine, I want to see yours, too!
