Peek at my Week: It's all about the teeth... the teeth...

Last week ended up being about a day's worth of instruction... Whomp! Whomp!
3 snow days and 1 early release day sort of made forward motion tough!
So this week, we will have a little "do-over."
However... we are moving on to Dental Health in our content area and reading!

I love Throw Your Tooth on the Roof. It shares tooth traditions from Around the World. I think I have had my book for about 12 years. In my opinion, there is no substitute for a book. We go back and look at pages again and again. Conversations bubble up and true interaction with a text takes place... but sometimes a video is pretty cool too!

This story will give you an opportunity to talk about compassion in your classroom.

And... well... just because!

Last year we used this unit from Katie Mense and it was perfect!

We are focused with our focus wall.

Our poem is ready... this is a favorite!

And we will be reading this book closely! This is part of our Growing Readers: February Unit.

I am a bit behind because The Perfect Son asked if I wanted to hang out yesterday. Um... YES! We went to the city and had a little phone war while we were stopped at an impossibly long stop light!
