When I was at school I had somewhat of an obsession with Islamic Arts for a while. The intricate designs, the opulent gold details and the Arabic script, which is almost an art form in itself. So it only made sense to visit a gallery while I was in Malaysia. There were two on my list and we chose to see the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur.
The Islamic Arts Museum is really beautiful, inside and outside, but I'd probably recommend it for history lovers more than art lovers. My favourite parts of the museum were the miniature replicas of some the most well known mosques around the world, the small art gallery within the museum and the incredibly beautiful and extravagant domed ceilings.
