My Favorite Lipstick of 2014

Lipstick isn’t a thing that I wear on an everyday basis. When I want to wear lipstick I want it to be opaque, comfortable on my lip, and last all day. The lipstick that I am picking as my favorite of 2014 is actually named after a previous decade. It is Gerard Cosmetics 1995!
This lipstick is like no other that I have used before. Other than the shade, which is gorgeous, it is a creamy matte that lasts and lasts. I find that most formulas of lipstick last a few hours and then fades or wears off completely, but this one doesn’t budge after 8 hours of wear. YES! That is through drinking, eating, talking, all of that. I always throw this in my bag to touch up with, but I never end up having to reach for it.
Back to the shade. The name is 1995 and I think that perfectly sums it up. It is a gorgeous rosewood brown shade that the decade itself is famous for having produced the trend. It is also a chameleon of sorts. It tends to blend in and look FABULOUS with whatever makeup I happen to be wearing at the time. If I am wearing cooler colors the rose shade stands out and if I am wearing warm tones it switches to that. It is really my new best friend.
As you can see, it applies smoothly onto the lips and is completely opaque. That is just one pass of this marvelous little beauty ladies and gents! Can you tell why it is my favorite? I mean, LOOK AT IT! GAH! It isn’t trendy. It is timeless!
