Eyeshadows are my favorite. I think I say that all the time, but it is most definitely true. When I was younger people would compliment my eyes a lot *just like they do for my daughter now*, so that combined with my grandma’s advice to “play up your best features” naturally had me interested in learning how to play with eyeshadow and mascara and liner.
Now that I am in my 30s I have come to really appreciate GREAT matte eyeshadows. Don’t get me wrong, sparkle is great but you can definitely OD on shimmer. There is really no way to create an eyeshadow look that is TOO MATTE. The Tarte Tartelettes AMazonian Clay Matte Palette is breathtaking and boasts 12 matte eyeshadows from very light to very dark.

I am NOT the most organized person in life, but I really appreciate a palette that is set up to be a no-brainer. These eyeshadows go from lightest on the left to darkest on the right. Each row can very easily be one look, or you can mix and match to create something very unique.
Row 1 is what I would go to in order to create an every day eye makeup look. It has soft muted colors that are perfect and should be a staple in anyone’s makeup routine. They also compliment just about any look.
The second row is great for those of you that are looking to adventure into some color but don’t want to leap into a full on bright eye look. These purple and pink hues are PERFECT and make for a super pretty look.
Row 3 is the PERFECT shades for that amazingly sexy smokey eye that everyone wants. It lays out all the shades you would need for just that. I also think that these shades are staples in anyone’s routine. You could use the 3 lighter shades to create your eye look and use the black as an eyeliner.
Swatched side by side you can see that there isn’t a loser in th ebunch. The entire palette is full of win. I love that they are all matte because it makes it the PERFECT stand alone eyeshadow palette. I ALSO love the fact it is completely matte because it is a perfect complimenting palette to anything else.
I also wanna saw for a minute that I think some of the lighter browns could also be used as a contour if you are in a pinch. No that isn’t what they are meant for, but there is no shimmer so why not? The Tarte Tartelette palette is SO versatile and user friendly that I am going to go ahead and call it THE eyeshadow palette of 2015.
