Spring signs

I forgot to buy a new skipping rope.
I forgot to buy street crayons.
I forgot to buy a new football.
I forgot to buy a new swing for the tree.
I forgot to get those "spring time essentials" that my kids enjoys so much now when the asphalt is dry from the sun. Now when indoor sofa lounging time has been switched to outdoor running around time and coming home too late for dinner... Now when the days are lighter and longer and the winter boots have been replaced by last years beat up trainers and Converse All Start shoes. Now when my geraniums on the window sill are coming alive and performing with their most delicate and sheer powder pink crowns of flowers.

I simply forgot. But I am forgiven. My kids are still living off the sensation to be outside without a thick winter coat on. And today they are distracted by the eclipse anyway, with the sky being dull and cloudy yet very bright... I guess we can all wait until tomorrow as we hope for more sun. For more spring. For more fun outside. With new spring toys.
