This is where I leave you is the cinematographic adaptation of the same name book by Jonathan Tropper (who also wrote the screenplay).

Judd Altman thinks he has a perfect life until he finds his wife having sex with his boss…It is a big shock for him and just a few time after that, his sister calls him to announce that their dad has died.

Their mum Hillary tells to her four children that their dad asked them to sit a shiva (they have to stay a week together). That’s seems to be a real hardship !

Judd tries to avoid to tell her mum that his wife cheated on him. At the same time, he meets Penny, a girl he knew from high school. Her sister Wendy who has two kids but not really happy in her marriage is affected to see his former lover and neighbor Horry. The older brother, Paul and his wife try desperately to have a baby and younger brother Phillip introduces Tracy, his « old » girlfriend to his family.

I really enjoyed this movie. The actors are all really good and the balance between humor and dramatic life moment is good. Some scenes are really funny and the end is great because it even can let some space for a sequel. A really nice family movie about love and brotherhood.
