Nobody can stop me from loving "Project Runway"

It's Blogapalooz-Hour! Tonight is that one time per month that our community managers give us a topic to write about at 9:00 p.m. and we have to publish at exactly 10:00 p.m. Typos and all. Here goes! Tonight's topic: Write a post passionately defending your guilty pleasure(s). I don't even think this is a guilty pleasure because it's AWESOME, but some might disagree. I am in a serious relationship with Project Runway. Admittedly, I didn't start watching from Season 1. Friends said they liked it and I didn't pay much attention. I didn't think I'd be that interested. I mean, like I'm actually fashionable. I don't even know how to sew a button. I wouldn't like this show. I was wrong. Dead wrong. I started watching Project Runway on a whim several years ago and I was hooked. Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. Perfect. If you've never seen Project Runway, it basically starts off with a bunch of designers that make the final cut to be on the show. Each week they participate in design challenges and create a garment (yeah, that's cool talk for an outfit.) At the end of each episode, they have a runway show where the garments are critiqued and someone gets sent home. Last one standing at the end of the season is the winner of a million things. So, Tim Gunn is the guy that helps the designers when they're working on their clothing. He gives them advice in his kind, gentlemanly way. Project Runway is Heidi Klum's show so she's many things including a judge. When I first started watching the show Michael Kors was also a judge and I couldn't wait to hear what he would say every week.
Did I mention that it's a requirement that I drink wine and talk to the TV during Project Runway? Honestly, there's no other way. Not only do I give the designers advice (while sitting on my couch in pajamas) I also like to figure out what the judges are going to say. "Oh snap, Michael Kors is going to have a field day with this one!" A couple of seasons ago, I read an announcement that Michael Kors was leaving Project Runway and that he would be replaced by another famous designer, Zac Posen. I'm not kidding, I literally sent Fran an e-mail with the article. I simply wrote, "My life is over." Of course, I wasn't going to stop watching and I gave Zac Posen a try. Did the show become any less awesome? No! Of course not because it's Project Runway y'all. Also, I now love Zac Posen. Once Fran and I went to a friend's wedding in Connecticut. We decided at the last minute to stay a night in Manhattan. We did one of those Priceline things where you pick where you want to stay (Manhattan) and you pick a price range (something not too expensive) and they pick a hotel for you. You basically click away not knowing what hotel you're going to get, which is why it's at a cheaper rate. What hotel came back to us? The Flatotel. Oh what's that? Only the place where the designers used to stay during the filming of Project Runway! Of course, they weren't filming while we were staying there. No matter. I did my Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum impersonations the entire time we were there. Fran: We need to catch a cab. Me: Make it work! Fran: (Holding the door for me.) Me: You're either in (walks outside) or your out. (German accent, of course) Yep, I can officially say that I'm pretty cool, but not as cool as Project Runway.
