Review & Swatches: piCture pOlish - Dragonfly, Escapades, Nebula and Lollipop

I have four new piCture pOlish 2014 collaboration shades to share with you: Escapades, Nebula, Lollipop and Dragonfly. Something for green nail polish lovers and something for those of you who like a little glitter on your nails. =)

Here they are, all lined up. I couldn't capture the true color of the Lollipop with my camera (purples really are camera shy) - the color drop looks like the polish looks like in real life. Well, closer to it than the photos of the Lollipop itself.

Dragonfly, 2 coats

Dragonfly was created in collaboration with Lucie from Lucy's Stash. It's a teal green shade with scattered holographic shimmer. It contains no glitter and dries into a smooth finish. It's a rather complex shade, but the photos don't show it very well. The shimmer sparkles in so many different colors, it's a real shame I couldn't capture it properly.

Escapades, 2 coats

Escapades was created in collaboration with Malene from Nail Escapades. It's a dark green shade with scattered holo shimmer. It contains no glitter and it dries smooth on the nail. This one is the most opaque shade in the bunch. It could be a 1-coater although I used 2 coats for my photos.

Nebula, 3 coats

Nebula was created in collaboration with Jen from The Nail Polish Project. It's a blue based jelly with pink and turquose glitter in different sizes. It dries into a slightly textured glitter finish. It looks a bit see through on the photos (due to rather strong lighting) but it looks pretty opaque with 3 coats in real life. This one looks very cool over a dark creme polish as well.

Lollipop, 3 coats

Lollipop is a shade created in collaboration with Nail Polish Canada. It's a true purple jelly shade packed with purple glitter and it dries into a slightly matte finish. For those of you who prefer a glossy and smooth finish, a layer of piCture pOlish Gloss on Top will do the trick. This one was hard to photograph since it looks much more blue on my photos than it is in real life. Check out the color drop on the photo above to see what it actually looks like. It took 3 coats for full opacity and it could also be used as a layering polish to bling-up your creme polishes.

Gloss On Top is a new piCture pOlish top coat. It's 5 free, fast drying and offers a high gloss finish. It can be layered over cremes, holographic or glitter polishes. It doesn't shrink and doesn't smudge your nail art.

Here's a photo of 1 coat of Gloss on Top over Nebula. Only 1 coat and the polish looks glossy and is smooth to touch. It would probably take more coats with more top coat thirsty glittery shades, but I'm already impressed.

That Remover is a brand new piCture pOlish water based nail polish remover. My bottle of That Remover managed to set itself free during shipping and made a wet mess out of the package, but there was still enough product left in the bottle to try it out.

I was very interested in how would water based nail polish remover remove nail lacquer that isn't water based and I can say it really works. It does take a little more time to remove polish than it does with acetone based removers or the other (non water based) removers, but it does work. I'm gonna stick with my non-acetone based removers, because I usually wear dark shades that need something stronger, but for those of you who need something less toxic, I'd definitely recommend you to try it and see how it works for you.
