“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”

- J.R.R. Tolkien

A few more photos from Mexico earlier this month! Spent a week in Puerto Vallarta celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents’ long-time neighbors, and our close family friends (which you already know if you had a chance to catch my last post). Snapped some shots outside of the restaurant after their vow renewal ceremony. This backyard was beyond beautiful, the photos don’t even do it justice! Almost like we stumbled upon a secret garden…

I feel very fortunate to have been able to travel so much this year. I love calling New York City home, but at the same time, I have found it very important for my mental health to have the freedom to escape when I need to. I am not a girl who likes to be tied down, and have worked hard to create a life that allows me to move around. I suppose I have become a bit of a wanderer, and find that this lifestyle is necessary in order to stay balanced, inspired, and creatively fulfilled.

Spent the past week or so on the beach in Cape May, NJ and will return to the city tomorrow just in time for Fashion Week…always an exciting time! For the most part, I do like going to shows, and enjoy the hustle and bustle that surrounds the whole crazy extravaganza. But, when it comes down to it, my favorite thing about NYFW is seeing my friends who come to town! It certainly helps ease the blow of returning to the madness that is Manhattan after what has felt like an extended vacation of sorts.

Just like the poem says, “not all those who wander are lost”. In fact, I think for some (myself included), the act of wandering is actually what keeps us from losing ourselves…
