Not Meant to Be: Urban Decay Naked3 Palette

The makeup stars were never aligned for me and the Urban Decay Naked3 Palette to be destined. I stalked Sephora until this palette was released on December 5th and even used my precious VIB discount because I was determined to love it. Almost three weeks later (don’t even GET ME STARTED on Sephora’s shipping track record to Canada), I had the highly coveted palette in my possession. I was besotted with the preliminary swatches and even went so far to claim it was my favourite of the three. I probably should have tried the product on my eye before making such a grandiose claim.

The sad truth is, these eye shadows give me a bad case of the Bob Costas.

They are all just too pink for my complexion. The only colours that I can cox a workable look out of are Liar, Factory and Mugshot. The lightest shades send me after the makeup remover and the darkest shades loose their nuances once blended and aren’t worth the effort.

I had relegated it to the giveaway pile and my sister snatched it up in a blink. And here’s the kicker: it miraculously transformed on her lovely olive toned skin and looks AMAZING. Go figure.
