NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Belated all... It has been a busy holiday and now that we're all back to the grind, I thought I'd take a few minutes to add something to my much-neglected blog. I admit, I think about closing it altogether sometimes. But on those rare occasions, I'm reminded that the reason I started blogging was to help me keep track of the things that I buy. It has proven useful especially when I'm out shopping and find myself tempted to buy something but I get a nagging feeling that I already own it. I check the blog on mobile and I get my answer. Right, I bought that already. Just to avoid duplicates, I also try not to buy old things. I used to buy new releases only because I'm afraid to fall in love with an item and later find it discontinued. Now, I've come to realize that I have more than enough choices to get much use out of certain products and quickly find something else to replace it if it ever disappears from the market. We all evolve, I think. Although sometimes I feel like I just get older.

NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret
So what did you get over the holidays? The NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret was probably one of my favorite things from the previous holiday season. For $49, you get 5 lip pencils in various finishes. The NARS lip pencils do cost a bit when bought individually but they are nice. To get to try a variety of shades for roughly $10 each, it's worth it. I can't say each color was a win for me but there was enough variety in the coffret to mix shades in case there was one or two that I just didn't love. And that truly was the case.

Cruella and Descanso were my two favorite shades. Cruella didn't need to be mixed with other shades. It's a beautiful matte red. A little high maintenance, but what red isn't. Descanso feeds my need for a neutral. Yu, intensely pink, also needed no alterations, in my opinion. But you have to love a fuschia lip to go with it. The last two that I haven't mentioned, Torres del Paine and Iberico, I don't think I could wear alone. Iberico is orange and I don't do orange. Torres del Paine is coral but a little too fake peach coral to wear by itself, I think. I topped it with a neutral brown MUFE lipstick to get a shade I much prefer. I did the same to Iberico, to tone down the orangeness and it worked.

All in all, a pretty good set at an acceptable price. It is still available to purchase too.
