{Bumble and Bumble} Sunday Shampoo

Hello Beautiful!

This post is extra special because I’m reviewing a product that a guy friend recommended to me. Not often I get beauty recommendations from boys, so I’m extra excited to share my review with you!

For the past few months, I’ve been using Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo as a part of my Sunday Funday routine. I’ve come to think of this shampoo as my weekly deep cleanser for my hair.

Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo: Available at Bloomingdale’s and Sephora for $25.
A weekly (any day) detox to rid hair of product residue, hard water minerals, pollutants, you name it. Perfect for product junkies and infrequent washers.
Ingredients include: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PPG-2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide, Panax Ginseng (Ginseng) Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Isoceteth-20, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Green 5 (CI 61570), Ext. Violet 2 (CI 60730), Limonene, Fragrance.

Here are my thoughts:

  • SCENT: The shampoo has a fresh scent and isn’t to pungent.
  • LATHER: The clear blue-ish formula lathers up to a rich lather.
  • CLEANSE: Squeaky clean. You know the squeaky sound that plastic tupperware makes when you’re rinsing off the dish soap? My hair makes that sound as my hands run through my hair while rinsing!
  • HOW TO USE: You use it just like any other shampoo. Wet hair, lather and rinse. Unlike other shampoos, repeating is not recommended. You can follow-up with your favorite conditioner.
  • BEST FOR: This shampoo is a weekly detox for hair product junkies and infrequent washers. Bumble and bumble recommends using this product once a week to remove all product residue, hard water mineral buildup, and pollutants.
  • COLOR/CHEMICALLY TREATED HAIR: It is NOT recommended to use this product on color or chemically treated hair. However, they recommend you use this product BEFORE getting your hair colored, permed, or treated. Similar to how you would exfoliate your skin before you get a spray tan, basically you want your hair to be super clean before you color or treat it. You’ll maximize the results.
  • SULFATES: As you may have noticed on the ingredient listing above, the Sunday Shampoo contains sulfates. If you’re worried about hair loss, you may want to not use this product. Not familiar with what sulfates are? Check out this post here.

Overall Thoughts: I would recommend this product for both men and women. The Sunday Shampoo removes buildup and residue of products, minerals, and even pollutants. The Sunday Shampoo does a great job deep cleaning and removing all the buildup from the oils and serums that I regularly use. When my hair is feeling especially dry, I’ll skip a week and use it every other Sunday. This way, I’m not stripping away my natural oils too often. If you have naturally dry hair, I recommend using this product every other week or so. Weekly might be too much for you. Overall, ever since I started using this product, I’ve noticed my hair has more volume… probably because there’s no yucky buildup or residue weighing it down! Hooray!
