Locks and Jewels

We did something a bit different this weekend and took a trip on a restaurant barge, all in the name of Ed's birthday (which is today!). His parents came up to London and kindly booked us a table on the My Fair Lady which sets off from Camden Lock and travels up the canal to Little Venice. Stepping on board and sailing away from the throngs of tourists was utter bliss- Camden is great, but in high season it can be a bit of a nightmare to walk through.
It was a really relaxing way to spend a few hours, gazing out the window at the pretty houseboats and discussing the pro's and con's of living on one- all pro's for me I might add, I would love to own one of those beauty's.

In honour of QVC's Diamonique Day today, I was kindly given this gorgeous little Eye pendant to wear. It's sterling silver and feels reassuringly chunky on the delicate chain. I love it, it reminds me of the Evil Eyes they sell in Turkey and Greece that are supposed to ward off misfortune!

After the boat trip, feeling very full with good food and wine, we walked back along the canal and up through Primrose Hill to take advantage of the unseasonably good weather. I'd really recommend the boat trip to anyone, it's a great little trip to do with family who don't live in London and even for Londoners, it gives you a totally new view of a familiar place.
