I've spent a lot of time waiting for the right moment to sneakily take pictures between Richard Serra's momentous Sculpture piece "Wake" near my loft. The area gets populated with dog walkers and runners as soon as the sun rises...and as much as I love an audience when I'm jumping around with a self-timer..oh wait...nahhh I don't:) I picked a morning that seemed decent and glided through those rusty metal thangs of beauty like a ninja. This was part one, which has a more other-worldly feel. Perspective and angles, while playing with the sun as light were key. I was also greatly influenced by the movie Interstellar...which rocked my world like no other. What was so beautiful about the film, without giving away a ton if you haven't seen it...was it's very realistic and powerful approach to the theory of the 5th dimension, black wholes, and even paranormal activity. Also, the realities of our planet's decline in the stability of our environment were a very believable reality. I saw it in Imax and loved every minute of it. Anyways, I hope everyone had a killer xmas! I was able to relax (a first for me) which was a pretty damn good gift..I mean, I still worked but whatevs:) With the new year literally days away, I have some amazing lifestyle changes ahead, which has been on my backburner for ages, but now seems like the perfect time to dive deep into as many positive changes as possible, mentally and physically :) As Cooper says in Interstellar, "We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars, now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt" It's definitely time to worry less about mine and other people's places in the dirt, and focus on the future, the changes, the above and beyond :) More soon! Here's a fav of mine from Ulrich Schnauss..
