beauty // Glamour Dolls reivew

Hey guys! So today I have a bit of a different post. This is kind of my first makeup swatch/review post ever, so I'm still working out a system on how to best go about these. I'm definitely not switching my title of "fashion blogger" to "beauty guru" anytime soon since I wouldn't consider myself particularly skilled at applying makeup or anything. It's just fun to switch it up. Also, pay no attention to the fact that I'm prematurely graying in my early 20s since it's extremely obvious in these photos, hahaha. I'm probably going to be full on gray by the time I hit my 30s, so hopefully silver hair is still trendy then.

ANYWAY, about the brand! Glamour Dolls is the result of celebrity makeup artist, Jessica Romano, following her dreams. The makeup line includes a variety of lip and eye products that are trendy and adorable. The best part: Glamour Dolls is also cruelty free and budget friendly. Nothing is over $5. If you're interested in seeing more, the swatches are after the jump!

GLOSS SNOB LIP GLOSSES ($1.99)

"Topless": This is such a perfect everyday pinky-nude tone. The formula goes on evenly and gives your lips the perfect glossy, but not too glossy finish.

"Zombie Kiss": This was my favorite out of the bunch though a little bit difficult to tame. It's super pigmented and can be a bit messy if you use too much. Less is more with this gloss! I recommend using a lipliner for this one and possibly a lip brush.

"Single Summers": This is such a pretty and wearable pink that's right in between being a hot pink and a nude pink shade.

GLAMOUR DOLLS LIP GLOSS ($3.99)

"Wildflower": This color totally reminds me of candy apples, which means it's perfect for autumn. It goes on evenly and smoothly which is an A in my book for lipglosses. I would be okay with applying this one without a mirror.

GLAMOUR DOLLS LIP CREAM ($2.99)

"Karma": This shade took a bit of effort to achieve significant color payoff. I would describe it as more of a berry color, but still super pretty and perfect for those who like dark plum shades but find them impractical for everyday wear.

"Juicy Melons": This is another favorite of mine. It's just a really perfect peach shade. I can see myself wearing this shade more often when spring and summer come around.

"Selfie": Okay so this one is probably a bit too light for my skin tone for everyday use, but I love it as a statement lip! This would look fantastic on people with darker complexions. This lip cream is super creamy (as the name would suggest) and reminds me a bit of the YSL rouge volupte line with a more matte finish.

KITTY KISSES LIP BALM ($2.99)

"Hiss": I love this line. The names are so cute. The balm is moisturizing though it doesn't have a ton of color payoff.

EYE MAKEUP

"Lashlights" mascara ($4.99): I'm always on the lookout for non-waterproof mascaras (which seem to be rare nowadays), so I was super excited to try this one! I feel a bit biased reviewing mascara since my lashes are naturally pretty long, but it really did add volume and length. The only downside was that it's a bit messy.

Gypsy eyeliner in black and white ($1.99): I'll admit that I refused to use the black part of this eyeliner simply because I refuse to use black pencil liners. I'm hopelessly addicted to my signature thick cat eye and I have convinced myself that this look can only be achieved by using liquid or gel liners. That didn't stop me from loving the white part of this liner, though. I am seriously surprised at how long it lasted on my waterline! It lasted about 4 hours until I washed it off. And even then it looked like I had just applied it. I also used it to highlight the outer edges of my cat eye.

Overall, I totally recommend Glamour Dolls if you're looking for trendy, cruelty free lip colors on a budget.
