Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe

Can you make Sugar Scrubs without essential oils? Can you use extracts/flavoring?

When making sugar scrubs I normally use essential oils, this time I used Coconut Extract or flavoring. I wanted to make a coconut sugar scrub, but could not find a coconut essential oil, so I tried coconut flavoring. This Coconut Sugar Scrub maybe my favorite scrub. One disadvantage to using flavorings is you have to use so much more than when you use essential oil. The benefit is you normally have flavorings on hand, and you can purchase them at any grocery store. I wanted the Coconut smell to be strong enough you did not have to put it up to your nose to be able to tell it was coconut. I ended up adding two tablespoons of Coconut extract which is a lot, but it smells amazing in this scrub. I have been using this Coconut Sugar Scrub in my shower. It leaves your skin so soft and smelling like you are on a tropical paradise island. Like anything you use on your entire body, test this scrub out on your hands to make sure you are not allergic to it.

What is a Sugar Scrub?

A sugar scrub gently exfoliates your skin and leaves it soft, smooth, silky, and smelling amazing. It smells good enough to eat. To make this sugar scrub super soft, I used Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, and Vitamin E. I have been taking Vitamin E for my hair and nails. I have also broken open the capsules and rubbed the oil around my cuticles to help with extreme dryness. I decided to try it in this sugar scrub. I think that is the secret to how soft this Sugar Scrub makes your hands feel. I broke open a few capsules, 1000 IE strength, for a teaspoon full and added it to the sugar scrub. I recently found out that you can purchase Vitamin E oil too. I was so excited how this sugar scrub turned out I made a Peppermint Scrub, an Orange, and a Lavender Scrub. If you need an inexpensive gift that smells amazing and leave your skin soft, try making this sugar scrub.
