Family Friendly New Year’s Drink

Alcohol can destroy lives! Celebrate with this Family Friendly Punch.

Why have I never drank any alcohol?

It has been a personal choice of mine not to drink even a little bit. I hesitate telling people this because they assume I do not drink because I am a Christian and Christians never have any fun. Everyone knows that Jesus made wine when he was at a wedding and the host ran out of wine to drink. He not only made wine, but great tasting wine for everyone to drink and celebrate. John 2:1-11 Drinking alcohol is not sinful, but drinking too much alcohol is sinful. Galatians 5:21, Ephesians 5:18

Why do I choose not to drink even a little bit?

I have seen the abuse of alcohol that has destroyed families first hand. I grew up in an alcoholic home. I know the screaming, lying, vomiting, verbal abuse, and so much more that comes when someone drinks too much alcohol. Alcohol is highly addicting. I have witnessed how much someone wants to change their life, tries to quit, receives help to quit drinking, but is never able to break the addiction. I truly believe that alcohol is not only highly addicting, but the addiction runs in families.

To be honest, I have always been afraid if I drink alcohol I too will become addicted. I do not want anything to control my life and destroy my family.

Would you like a non-alcohol Super Simple Scrumptious Punch for the whole family to enjoy?

Since I know how much alcohol destroys families and more and more kids and teenagers are becoming addicted to alcohol, I wanted to share this easy fun drink with you. We toast in the New Year every year with this wonderful punch. I use my small ice cream scoop, about a tablespoon and scoop a glass half full of sherbet of your choice. Next, fill the glass with Ginger Ale. I also use 100% Sparkling Fruit Juice sometimes with the Sherbet.

Ingredients

  • Sherbet, any kind will work. (I used Rainbow & Raspberry Sherbet)
  • Ginger Ale
  • 100% Sparkling Fruit Juice

Scoop enough Sherbet to equal half a glass. I use a small tablespoon size ice cream scoop.

Add enough Ginger Ale to fill the glass.

You can also use 100% Sparkling Fruit Juice.

I found God at 18 years old.

  • Having faith in God helps me to know that the things I had been through made me into the person I am today which is a strong women of Faith.
  • I know that God is in control.
  • God has and will continue to work everything out in my life.
  • God can also use what I have been through to help others.

My two adopted children grew up in an alcoholic home too.

They both struggle with issues around not trusting, not loving, low self esteem, and more.
