Scrappy Quarter Log Cabin Quilt - A Finished Quilt

Scrappy Quarter Log Cabin Quilt
61 inches x 47.5 inches or 155cm x 121cm
The Scrappy Quarter Log Cabin Quilt is finished! I have loved every moment of working on this quilt, the cutting of the fabric strips, the repetitive piecing, and the lines and lines of straight line quilting. Perhaps not so much the basting, but that is unfortunately just part of the process, during which I remind myself that it is another step closer to finishing ... and starting something new.

Thank you for all of your kind comments here on my blog, on Instagram (@redpepperquilts) and on Facebook. I think there is something so delightful and heart warning about scrappy traditional patchwork. It appeals to so many quilters - and non-quilters - and makes for wonderful eye candy. Please bear with me today and scroll leisurely through the many photos ...

For the back of the quilt I have once again used my favorite backing fabric ~ Newsprint from the Paint Collection by Carrie Bloomston. The quilt is quilted with straight vertical lines just 3/4" apart, ditch stitching all vertical seam lines, as well as most of the horizontal seam lines; adding subtle texture to this quilt which is layered with low loft cotton batting.

And I have used a classic black/white stripe fabric by Timeless Treasures for binding - a fabric I use often for binding for it is indeed timeless and provides just the right amount of contrast for this otherwise busy quilt top. These quilt edges ... make me deliriously happy!

This quilt sold prior to listing in my store. If you're interested in purchasing one of my quilts - even one that I am still
working on - please don't hesitate to contact me by email.
Thank you for stopping by,
Rita
