It’s a Big World

Sometimes you need to put life into perspective. Planet Earth does not go on into infinity, but it’s still impossible for a single human to explore the entire world in a lifetime. So technically speaking, travel is an endless journey. Even if you don’t know where you’re going, you can always look forward to finding new places.
I’m in my final year of university and looking forward to my graduation…a lot. Yeah, it’s been stressful (and it will be for seven more months). Instead of immediately steamrolling on to a master’s degree, I’m pretty sure I’ll be taking a break. All I know is that I will need to get a job to pay back my student debt, I want to seriously work on my “second” languages (Spanish, French, Japanese), and, most importantly, I’m going to get a dog. That’s not even up for discussion. Maybe I also want to get a car so me and my dog can go explore what’s left of Europe. Sounds like a plan! Except for the part where I have to move out of my room in Amsterdam at the end of June 2015.
I plan to take a break for about a year (maybe?) and after that, I dunno. Which is fine, I guess. Maybe it’s a good place to be at, not knowing where to go. It’s a big world, after all. I can’t imagine myself not continuing my academic career, so that will probably happen at some point in the future. All I know for sure is that I want to put all my energy into a future that ensures the most optimal opportunties for the most awesome travel adventures. It may sound overly ambitious (unrealistic), but I will not give up on my dream!
