smells like teen spirit

Forever 21 skater skirt (similar here, here), vintage sweater (similar here, here), faux leather backpack c/o Aeropostale (similar here, here), River Island heels (similar here, here)

Save for the necessities of travel, I haven't touched a backpack in the couple of years since I've graduated university. However, I'm loving that the backpack has been coming back into vogue not only because of practicality, but because of style, and a revamped faux leather 2.0 version from the '90s is definitely a favorite, especially this wonderful one from Aeropostale! Personally, because of my considerably small size, I almost always shy away from nearly anything that is reminiscent of my private school days or anything else that would make me look younger; I have the Selena Gomez syndrome, unfortunately, where I look perpetually fifteen. But evident by the photos, I totally went kitch (an indulgence that I'm so guilty of in other life aspects as well, aha!) for this look, in a vintage sweater and a flared skirt for a retro and classic back-to-school look, although I don't advocate heels on an entire school day unless they're comfortable and/or you can handle it.

So I had mentioned some life-changing decisions in slight passing in my last post and as I've already made the "official" announcement via Twitter and my personal Facebook awhile ago, here goes! I'll be moving to NYC (Bushwick in Brooklyn, to be specific) in October. It's going to be quite the change, to say the least, as I'm a born-and-bred Bay Area girl and lived in San Francisco for the past three years, but I think I'm young enough to try something daring and completely out of my comfort zone. It'll be an experience, to say the least! And if you're in the area, please say hi! :)

Happy Friday to everyone and enjoy your weekend! xo
