What Weekends Are Made Of

This was one of those weekends where I felt like we were on the go every day. We weren't of course, but it felt like it.

We kicked it off Friday with homecoming at school. Now that Brooklyn is in middle school, they get to do all the big kid stuff like school sports, dances, homecoming, etc. B got selected to represent her homeroom during the halftime court. This meant dress shopping on Christmas break....eeek. We actually survived it and knocked out dress shopping for their first formal in February while we were at it. One and done shopping!

Anyways, here's a little pic overload from Friday night:

Yes she looks almost as tall as us here but her heels are about twice as high as my heels in this picture

Brooklyn asked him to escort her so she wouldn't have to choose between her dad and her step dad. I thought that was pretty sweet and mature of her.
After the court, there were more pictures. And just when she thought she was done....even more pictures. But after that, there was a basketball game. The girls are still undefeated going into their last 4 games of the regular season. I couldn't be more proud of them and their coach. I really love hearing the older girls' parents or the boy parents talking about how good of a season our girls are having.

Saturday, B ditched us for the Harlem Globetrotters with a friend and we headed to the party for the Road Race Series finishers and warriors. I've mentioned the details on the road race here, but basically it's a series of races that go from 5ks up to half marathon distances over the course of several months. It also pretty closely aligns with the training for the St Jude half marathon. If you complete 6 out of 10 or one race of each distance, you are a finisher. If you complete all 10 races, you are a road warrior (and a BAMF, seriously! Those races are every two weeks and start at 7am!). Anywho, this weekend was the big party to celebrate that, and we had a blast.

Sunday, we were back up and running around getting things ready for our friend's baby shower. It was just a close group of friends celebrating little no name. We like to give her a hard time since we weren't able to have anything monogrammed for Baby Burns yet. I can't wait for that little guy to arrive though!

We spend the rest of Sunday evening on the couch! The Golden Globes were on so I had to hop on twitter and read the live tweets. That's my favorite time to be on twitter...during awards shows!

Hope everyone had a busy but fun weekend as well!
