Stella Jean Re-See Fall / Winter 2015

Using her Italian-Haitian heritage as a base to inspire her, each season Stella Jean looks to a specific culture to create her newest collection. This season it was the Himilayas.

Stella’s real strength is the way in which she creates an unexpected mix by pairing elements and cultures you usually wouldn’t think of, together.

A good amount of that is created through the styling, but it’s also achieved within individual pieces, i.e. the pair of traditional herringbone pants she adorned with colorful outside patch pockets inspired by the adornment of the Himilayan yak.

Beyond this, the playfullness of her fabrics and embellishments, as well as her fun sense of color, make her most definitely a designer to watch.
