What do you like best about the grade you teach? Least?

"My favorite grades to sub for are 1-2 because they have more independence, still love learning, and know how to read."

"Least is 5th grade because they are at that age that they think they know it all and are starting to get hormonal!"

What are your strengths as a teacher? Weaknesses?

"Strengths: I'm listening, compassionate, imaginative."

"Weakness: I'm OCD about some things and I want everything to go perfect."

What has been your most embarrassing teacher moment?

"I had toilet paper hanging out of my pants! Then a student let me know, thank goodness!"

What's the one part of your job that you dislike the most?

"As a sub, the one part of my job that I dislike is that sometimes I have no lesson plans. And sometimes the students act up more because they think they can get away with it."

How do you see your role of "teacher" changing in the next 5 years?

"Hopefully I have a full time teaching job in the next 5 years! But I've already seen technology evolving in the classroom from the Smartboard to a whole 5th grade using iPads for everything!"

If you had the chance to add a certification (or skill) to your list of credentials, what would it be?

"I'd love to be able to speak Spanish fluently so I could get hired at my favorite school!"

If you weren't in education, what would you be doing?

"If I wasn't a teacher, I'd love to be a chef. I love baking and cooking."

Favorite Quote:

"Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one."
-Malcom Forbes

Morning person or night owl?

"Night owl"

How do you keep your sanity? Or do you?

"I talk with friends, have some chocolate, and escape with a good book!"

The most valuable piece of teacher advice I've received...

"Quit worrying and just do your best!"
