Pink Haze

Pink has never been one of my favorite colors; it’s just a bit too cheery for my taste. Navy, black, ochre.. now those are colors I love. They’re moody, brooding, and matte. When I wear pink, I half expect to look in a mirror and see Paris Hilton or some other cultural Barbie doll staring back at me. Last week I was browsing the racks at Zara and saw a glimmer of pink peeking out from behind a cluster of printed shirts. Curiosity got the best of me and I found myself wanting to know more.

Turns out that little discovery session led me straight to this kickass mauve jacket. Like I said, I almost never wear pink but I’m slowly becoming a convert. It’s dark, dirty and weathered… and masculine enough. Since I can’t possibly break from my normal neutrals, I paired the jacket with a navy hoodie and black jeans to bring the pink back into my style stratosphere.
