Inside the “Cooking with Scorsese” Zine Exploring Food & Cinema

Hato Press take us through a unique culinary world referenced in cinema classics via their lighthearted and obscure publication, “Cooking with Scorsese.” Covering a range of films from Goodfellas to The Breakfast Club, this is a fully-formed experience, the paper zine backed up by an interactive website. London print and publishing house Hato will launch the project with a silent screening of “Bennie and Joon” and a supper club serving some of the edible creations depicted in the film including Peanut Butter and Cereal Milkshakes and Tennis Racket Mash Gnocci, fontina and rocket.

Inside the publication itself you’ll find a set of recipes (explosive pissing beef balls anyone?) all told through screenshots and subtitles from the film in question. With a forward from Ananda Pellerin, editor of “The Gourmand,” grab the movie cookbook at the Hato Press webshop and book yourself in for the South London launch here.
