Becoming A Gel Nails Convert

My First Gel Nails Experience

I'm rarely seen without polish on my nails. Whether it's classic black, pillarbox red or a subtle nude, I feel pretty naked without it. That being said, I'm often sporting chipped and sometimes smudged (oh, the horror) nails. I can spend a good hour painting my nails, carefully waiting for each layer to dry, all for it to be undone when I pick up my phone and smudge the whole lot... it's an actual nightmare.
When my new pals over at Brazilian Waxing Company got in touch, I was in that horrible stage of sporting red, extremely chipped, nails that I didn't want to remove for fear of ending up with red-tinged fingers for the next two days. Although they are well-known in Manchester for sorting out unruly body hair, I decided to see how beautiful they could make my natural nails.

Nailed It!

I was impressed. Seriously impressed. I'd heard how great two week gel nails were, but I never imagined that it'd be something I'd now want on the regular, especially as a girl who only visits salons if there's some major event or holiday coming up.
My nails were prepped, buffed and shaped and Katy was really gentle with pushing back my cuticles too. Very important for a wimp like me. A couple of coats of polish, a few blasts under the UV lamp and I had dry, glossy nails that were definitely not going to smudge.
The pictures above are my nails after about two weeks of wear & tear and growth. Pretty good, huh? I use my index fingers quite a lot (forever opening awkward product lids) and they always seem to chip after about two days with regular polish, so it was amazing to see how well the gel polish fared. Only two very tiny chips after two whole weeks!
A huge thanks to Katy at the Manchester Oxford Road salon for pimping my nails in black cherry polish. I'll definitely be back for a celebratory bright-coloured spring mani very soon!
Brazilian Waxing Company Oxford Road & Cheapside, Manchester They offer waxing, laser hair removal, gel nails, eyelash extensions & much more.
My gel nails were complimentary of Brazilian Waxing Company, but all thoughts & opinions are my very own.
