Hello, All! Today I have a special treat for you: a guest post by Trish Preston, author of the new book Because I Love You Sew. Trish writes at the blog Two Peas in a Pod and her new book is full of gifts to make for everyone you love.

When I was approached almost 4 years ago about writing this sewing book of mine, I knew exactly what I wanted to focus on. I wanted it to be about LOVE.
About how we share from one generation to the next, our gift of handcrafting.
How taking the time to make something slowly, carefully, thoughtfully is to be treasured. And that the process, the event for which the gift is to bestowed, all of it, creates the story of our lives. It is a tangible item of our love and our journey on earth.
With this book, I wanted to inspire new sewers and advanced sewers to think about that process. To journal about it. To take a picture along the way. Save a scrap of fabric from the project. To tell the story of how your creation came to be. When I sew something for someone I love, very often I find myself deep in prayer as I stitch away. I’m praying for the recipient’s safe keeping, for their dreams to come true, for them to feel the love being sewn into each stitch.
I hope that you will find this book to be inspiring and fun. I hope that you will sew for someone you love and maybe sew WITH someone you love too – teach your little ones that special skill so they can pass the story of love on and on. This book and it’s stories is a gift to my own children, Because I Love them sew…
