Camille

T is for Thimble Blossoms

Hello! Welcome to my stop on the Moda Spell it with Fabric blog hop. I'm so happy you are here!

My name is Camille Roskelley, one half of Moda team Bonnie and Camille (Bonnie is my mom). Aside from designing fabric, I also design quilt patterns for my company Thimble Blossoms, write books, and teach Craftsy classes. I have 3 handsome (wild) little boys running around over here, and they keep me on my toes. I have the best job ever!

I'm also pretty tired. ;-)

Every 6 months or so Moda hosts a great designer blog hop, and you can read more about this one here, at the Cutting Table blog. Over the past week or so there have been a bunch of stops along the way, and each stop has a free pattern for their letter. Here's how far I've gotten:

Fair warning, these blocks are addictive. I'll continue to post them over on Instagram as I go, so if you haven't found me there, I'm @thimbleblossoms. Come say hello!

My mom was on the first day with the letter C (for Cotton Way), which she made into a mini quilt for my wall of minis. I love it! Isn't it perfect up there?

In case you need to catch up, you can find the list of all the designers participating HERE, and each of them will have a link to the pattern for their letter. Today just happens to be Sweetwater and Sandy Gervais' stop on the blog too, so make sure you stop and say hello. Did I mention you can win prizes at each stop too? It's pretty great.

My letter is T, for Thimble Blossoms, and here are a few more T's about me:

Something I like? Tacos (Cafe Rio is my favorite)

Favorite quilt block? I love anything made with Triangles

Somewhere I've been? Texas! I was just there for Fall Quilt Market and had a lovely time.

Somewhere I want to go? To Hawaii. ;-) Yes, I know that's cheating since it doesn't start with a T, but I'm hoping one of these days the husband is going to Take a hint!

My favorite tool I can't live without? Thread. Aurifil 50wt, to be exact.

I love quilting because? Well this isn't going to start with a T either, but because it just makes me happy. Everything about it. From beginning to end. Thanks Mom. (Hey, that starts with T!)

Oh, and you can find the instructions for the T block HERE.

When I made mine I switched out the plain background with some random strips of April Showers, as you can see. It hung on my bulletin board for a few months before I decided to include it in this crazy thing.

This is my Leftovers quilt. It is made up of a whole bunch of leftover or tester blocks I had in my scrap bin from patterns, books, or just because projects. One night, after seeing a similar (okay, crazy) antique quilt online, I decided to just sew them all together.

It took me a month or two to get around to quilting it (which I did on my BERNINA 710), and I have to say, I love how it turned out. It's like a scrapbook of my quilts over the past few years.

It is FAR from perfect (really, don't look too close), but I can't wait to make another one!

Now for a giveaway! I have two precuts to giveaway, a fat eighth bundle and a Layer Cake of April Showers. Just tell me which one you want to win and what you'd make with it in the comments below and you'll be entered to win.

Here are a few of my April Showers projects in case you need an idea or two, and all my patterns can be found here, in my shop.

Did I mention you can get 30% off any PDF in the shop this week with code MODAPDF30? Yep, even the new mini quilts.

Did you make it through all that? Thanks again for stopping by, and thank you Moda! It's always a pleasure. :-)

**This giveaway is now closed. You can find the winner HERE. Thanks everyone!
