Scenes from Las Vegas

This is my first weekend home and without a race to run in about 6 weeks; part of me is excited to keep it low-key and stay home and part of me wants to go travel somewhere. I should have been a gypsy.

These are just some random pictures from last weekend in Vegas. Enjoy and have a great pre-Thanksgiving weekend!

{Follow along on Facebook, twitter, and Instagram for weekend updates and pure ridiculousness.}

{Driving out to Vegas at breakneck speeds. Why does my husband think every car ride is a Grand Theft Auto simulation?!}

{The ice bath torture chamber at the Vdara. If you can’t feel your toes for an hour afterwards, are you doing it wrong?

I always do the blind bidding on Priceline for Vegas since there’s so many options and hotels, and we always get the Vdara or the Trump. always. I could put in $4 or $400 and we’d still get one of the two.}

{Crystals at the Cosmo. Our friends stayed here, and we stayed here a couple years ago. It’s really nice – very contemporary and swanky. My sweatpants seem to fit right in.}

{Saturday was a beautiful day so I walked from our hotel to the expo at the Convention Center and took a couple pictures along the way, like a true tourist. I’m not sure how far it was but it took me an hour to walk there so probably like 17 miles.}

{Saturday night we carbo-loaded like a boss at Grimaldi’s off the strip. Go here. The end.}

{Pizza Math: We ordered two sides salads and three large pizzas for five people, two of whom were running and three who were gambling. We did have some leftovers which is almost shameful in my book.}

{On Friday night we went to Texas de Brazil – this was the first time I’d ever been to a Brazilian all-you-can-eat steakhouse. SO RIDICULOUS. It was the most gourmet salad bar I’d ever seen. And then all the meat they bring around to eat table… oh lordy. Here, have another bacon-wrapped petit filet! If I were to ever die of a food overdose, it would be here. Or in Red Robin french fry factory.}

{Of all the shoes I brought, the only ones I didn’t wear were my Wave Rider 16s. The bad thing about getting new shoes is that I never want to wear my old ones anymore. #runnerproblems}

{THIS IS MADE OF CHOCOLATE. I suddenly love art.}

{Entrance to the fitness center at the Vdara. Ever notice that hotels always call them “fitness centers” but at home you go to the “gym”?}

{Someone missed me while I was gone… or she missed the Costco blanket that is the best blanket in the world.}

{Testing out some new workout tights, excited about them. Not as excited about my jank face. Monica took these pictures while we were on a walk the other day. We ran out of running things to talk about and started in on donuts which led to this post-walk…}

Dang Monica.

Have a fab weekend!
